17-THE DELIGHT SONG

 

  1. What do you understand when the poet says,” I am the shadow that follows a child?”

This statement of the poet shows his great love for children. He has a good relation with them. In their love, he follows them like a shadow.

          The crust of snow glitters in the bright rays of the sun.

          The poet wants to have a good alliance with every beautiful object of nature. He wants to see every lovely thing in his dream.

          Man’s good relation with the earth and the lords keeps him alive and active. It brings happiness and consolation for him.

         The relation of man with God, the earth, and other beautiful objects of nature keeps a person alive and happy.

CONTEXT:

The poet says that a man can be happy, active and alive if he enjoys the beautiful objects of nature and has good relations with them. We should have good relation with Allah and His all creations. In order to lead a contented life, we should love everything around us.

EXPLANATION:

Stanza-1

In these lines the poet tells about all those things which provide him pleasure and they are also in harmony with him. He takes delight in becoming a feather flying in the air, a horse running in the plain and a fish moving in water. He loves the innocence of the children, the shine of the green fields and the flight of eagle. He wants to be a cluster of beads and of distant stars. He likes the sweet cold of dawn the music of rain, the glitter of the snow, the long reflection of the moon in the lake and the beauty of colorful flame. He wants to dream of all these things.

Stanza-2

In these lines the poet says that he is alive and leading a contented life because I have good relation with the lord, the earth, all the beautiful objects of nature and all that is useful and fruitful. He is happy because he has complete harmony with them.
